I have the 3 amigo problem.Autologic said RHF wheel sensor. Cleared code. Same code Came back. Changed RHF sensor. Same Code came back. Didnt change wiring back to computer.Got quoted for sensor with loom or with out. Do you normally need to change loom??? From what I have read ABS on LRs are a real problem.Must be the Lucas curse. Why do poms drink warm beer??
Mr Lucas made all the fridges.
Ps I am a mechanic down under with lots of experience but now working in spare parts

Answer -
Your problem may not be the sensor at all.  It may be within the hub.  The hub contains the reluctor ring - the toothed ring that triggers the sensor.

Thans John.
Yes first thing  checked was the wheel brg. Nice & tight. What can go wrong with ABS sensor ring ?Looks like it should be held clamped tight between the brgs. You didnt comment on changing wiring so I guess this has never been the main problem.Am starting to think it may be vibration from brakes as the 3 A's have only ever come on when braking so will swap pads & rotors side to side to see if problem travels.
Regards Charles
PS have had car for 1 yr & has same brakes, I think they are Lucas brand

Answer
The follow up appeared twice, once without the question.

In addition to my last response - the pads could be making an ultrasonic squeal that triggers the sensor.

The ring gets out of true somehow or the hub gets loose.  Sometimes the rings corrode
