There is a considerable noise coming from the air compressor for the air suspension.  Is this normal?  It appears to come on frequently, even when the suspension is not being adjusted in height.  Perhaps its maintaining pressure and thats why it comes on regularly, but why is it so noisy??

if there is considerable noise coming from compressor I would think that compressor is going bad. All of them make some noise and it's normal that it comes on during normal driving - it has to maintain pressure in tank and whole system. Make sure it's not touching anything and all mounts are OK, maybe it loose and vibration it's making the whole thing .
