QUESTION: The service engine soon light is on, and has been. Just prior to having this problem I had the heater core bypassed because of leaking into the car. Nothing has been done to diagnose or work on this current issue.
ANSWER: Do you know how to retrieve the fault CODES from the computers ?.
If NOT, I need to know the YEAR, MODEL and ENGINE SIZE of your vehicle.

QUESTION: I don't know how to retrieve the codes. It is a 96 Cadillac Eldorado ETC 4.6L V8 -- 32V Northstar.
Answer1. Turn ignition key to the ON position. Do NOT start the engine.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER (^) buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.
3. You will see combinations of LETTERS & NUMBERS appearing followed by the word HISTORY or CURRENT which are the CODES. The display will stop at PCM?
4. Tell me everything you see on the display as if you were video taping it.
5. Turn ignition switch OFF.
