Cadillac Repair: 1995 sls, gm service manual, way over my head

Is it possible as a back yard mechanic to purchase a manual and repair this vehicle? I inherited this vehicle and can not afford to have a dealer fix it! As an expert would you see this as an alternative or am I in way over my head? Your opinion would be appreciated.

Your going to get WAY over your head on this one. Purchasing an ORIGINAL FACTORY GM SERVICE MANUAL is a good idea as this way I can help you with any problems. Do NOT buy any GENERIC books such as hayes, Chiltons, etc,etc as they do NOT go into enough detail.
