Cadillac Repair: heating, heater hoses, coolant level

Question
1991cadillac will not blow out hot

Answer
Brian,
A little short on info but I'll assume you are saying everything seems ok except the temperature of the air is not hot enough.
If this is correct, first you need to verify the coolant level is full, then make sure the cooling system is getting up to "proper" operating temp. Verify this by grabbing a radiator hose. It should be VERY hot. Too hot to hold actually. Then verify that BOTH heater hoses are also hot. If one is, and one is not, you most likely have a clogged heater core. If both are hot, you most likely have an air delivery problem associated with the programmer. The air mix door is not moving to the full hot position. If it gets to that point, please get back to me, so we can continue with more in-depth diagnostic procedures.
