Cadillac Repair: 1994 Seville STS, seville sts, electrical diagnosis

Remote key does not lock or unlock drivers door.  Any simple fix?  Also, right side mirror does not work from inside control.  Can that be repaired easily?

Hi Jeff,


    If the remote opens all the doors except the drivers door then try the locks manually. If they work that way then sounds like the power lock motor might be bad or there is a break in a wire possably inside the rubber boot that is between the door hinges.

    As for the mirror it could be the switch, mirror motor or wireing. You would need to use a voltmeter or 12 volt test light and see if power is going through the switch and if it is getting to the motor.

     Electrical diagnosis can be challangeing at times but let me know if you need more help. Bill
