Cadillac Repair: Engine, engine cooling fans, diagnostic chart

I have a 1987 Cadillac DeVille,4.1L V8 DFI engine.There are two electric engine cooling fans.When do these fans come on and how do you check them.1G6CD5187H4326064,4 Door Sedan  

Answer
The fans will NOT come on until the engine temp reaches approx 220 degrees.
