Cadillac Repair: 90 Cadillac Seville glove Box, cadillac seville, glove box

Question
The glove box latch broke and the door won;t stay down.Looks like the plastic catch has broken. I have tried to remove the latch but have been unsuccessful. I have taken out all the screws but it won't budge. I assume this is replaceable. Can aayou give me advice on how to replace.

 The broken piece was that part of the latch itself with the lock cyl?or is it the retainer at the bottom of the glove box were the latch engages?
 If you need to remove the latch that is part of the lid,you need to insert your key into the lock cyl,rotate it clockwise to lock then rotate it clockwise again you may have to give it a little bit more force,then remove the lock cyl,there is a screw located below the lock cyl,now i have had to break the latch out of the door,reason being what the latch froze the lock cyl in place..but try that first.let me know if you need more help.Thanks
