Cadillac Repair: wet driveway, costly trip, minuits

Question
I have a 94 deville 4.1 liter. Recently I have noticed antifreeze on the driveway after I have driven it for awhile. After closer inspection I can't see any moisture on any radiator hoses. The puddle is directly under the block, but I can't tell where it is coming from. Am I missing something? Or is this going to be another costly trip to the dealer?

Answer
Hi John, Well it depends. Check the anti freeze level in the rad and fill it to the top. Then put the cap back on and run the engine for 30 minuits in the driveway or until coolant is seen dripping and then try to isolate where its comming from. Waterpumps are a good bet if they have been on the engine more that 75,000 miles. If you have the 4.9 liter and not the northstar 4.6 then the coolant pipes like to rust up front by the belt area. Past that if nothing shows up then dive it for 10-15 minuits and then park it in the drive and look for leaks. If none show up after 1 hour of sitting then sounds like you will be visiting the dealer. Bill
