Cadillac Repair: Service Air conditioning light, cadilac, heater hose

Question
Ever since I had to replace the EMC every so
often the service air light comes on when you start it up and stays on for 30 seconds and
then goes off.  And then it wont happen for
weeks and then it might happen again. Any thoughts
I was thinking a stuck thermostat or the heater
hose needs to be relaced and alto they dont leak
you can see antifreeze around the end of the hose.
Its a 92 Cadilac DeVille. With 60,000 miles.
I have had the car for about a year and have
not had any problems until this year. The Airconditioner works great and this does not seem
to effect the operation of the car.

Hi Tom, Sometimes when an ECM is remanufacturered they don't get all the bugs out of it and this may be the case with yours. If the light was off before replacement and now its on I would suspect the ECM as being the culpret. I would check for codes and if none the I would take it back to the shop that installed it and ask that they check it out for a possable bad ECM and replace it under warrenty. A hose or thermostat shouldn't cause the light to turn on. A problem with the air conditioner usually turns on that light. Bill
