Cadillac Repair: The car will not start, sparkplug wires, fuel spray

Question
I just changed the spark plugs and have a new battery.  When I try to start the car, it turns over but will not start.  I have a Cadillac Coup De Ville, year 1982.

Answer
Hi C Ogg, How did your car run before the changes...It did run didn't it? Several things come to mind...if you removed the distributor cap to inspect things then maybe the 2 wire connectors weren't reinstalled. The sparkplug wires were installed on the wrong plugs. The fuel pump was weak and decided this was the time to quit. You should see fuel spray from the injectors when cranking or see that the throttle plate is wet with gas. There isn't any logical explanation why this would happen if just replacing sparkplugs and the battery and if nothing else was disturbed. Bill
