Cadillac Repair: engine miss, vacuum leaks, blk wht


Question
Im working on a 93 cad.seville w\a 4.6 northstar
eng. vin 9   cyl #5 is dead
Have replaced all 8 injectors(delco)plugs,wires
ran compression test (all cyl.145-160)
cyl. leakage test(none above 10%)
swapped coil pacs(type 1 dis)
checked for vacuum leaks(none found)
all coils will jump a 30kv gap
brain is frazzled,any suggestions ?

Hi Rob, You are pretty thourough in your diagnosis. Looks like the only thing you didn't check is power to the injector. With the engine running does a noid light stay dark, blink or stay on solid. A normal light will blink. Power comes in on red wire and pcm grounds the blk/wht wire. So it would point to a  wireing problem or a bad engine computor. To test the wireing remove the red pcm connector with the key off. Turn the ingition key on and touch terminal 1A11 to ground with a jumper wire and that will light the noid light if the wire is good. Make sure you don't spread the terminal or you will have problems after plugging in the connector. If the light stays on solid then the pcm could be bad or the blk/wht wire is shorting out somewhere.
