Chevrolet Repair: Replacing a Fuel Line, chevy suburban, copper line

Question
Okay I've got a 1996 Chevy Suburban and I just recently had to change the Fuel Tank, Fuel Pump, return valves and and the sending unit, unfortunately though I had only fix one of the 2 leaks without realizing the existence of the second leak.

Okay, now my question is this is it possible to replace the fuel line by getting the length of steel pipe needed and instead of a flexible rubber I used a steel mesh hose from say a toilet of sink connector or something similar?

Answer
HI CORY,,I DONT THINK I WOULD USE ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BUT WHAT I WOULD SUGGEST YOU USE IS ONE OF 2 THINGS. NYLON LINE OR COPPER LINE. BOTH COME IN 5/16 OR 3/8 INCH. I WILL ASSUME YOU NEED A 3/8 LINE. REMEMBER THIS IS FOR FUEL INJECTION, WHICH HAS 3O TO 50 LBS PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM. PART STORES WILL HAVE ALL OF YOUR FITTINGS THAT YOU NEED FOR EITHER COPPER OR NYLON. NYLON IS VERY IS TO WORK WITH AND VERY INEXPENSIVE..COPPER IS JUST AS GOOD AND CAN BE CONNECTED WITH A SMALL PIECE OF FUEL INJECTION RUBBER HOSE AND CLAMPS.I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.....
