Chevrolet Repair: fuel tank removal, tank removal, chevy c20

I am removing the fuel tank on my 1978 chevy c20 truck.  The tank is on the passenger side about halfway between the front and the back.  Do the strap mounts have to be removed from the frame, or is there a way to disconnect the straps without unbolting the bolts on the frame.

Hey,

You have to remove the straps from the frame first (or lift the bed off of the frame).  The bolts come out of the frame and you lower the tank and then remove the straps.  Be carefull to line them up properly when installing or it is nearly impossible to install.
