misfire.3different mechanics told 3dif things.bad computer,bad fuel
injector, short in wiring harness. The light flashes only above 30mph and only in
gear. Any suggestions on what my be the problem?

Answer
Hey David.

What needs to be done is this:

FIRST! Compression test on number one cylinder.  Make sure all is good mechanically

Second:  Hook fuel pressure gauge up, connect TECH 2 or equivalent scan tool with bi directional control.  Access computer and check balance of all 6 injectors by actuating each injector and noting pressure drop.
If #1 injector does not pulse a scope or graphing meter can be used in conjunction with a low amp probe to narrow down the cause of the problem as the injector, wiring or driver in the computer.  Bad computers in those years have the ability to self diagnose internal problems such as an injector driver.
Ask the mechanics for proof of their hypothesis.  There is nothing wrong with that. Ask them to guarantee their diagnosis and see who puts their skills where their mouth is.  If you have one guy saying its wiring, one guy an injector, one guy the computer they either don't know what they are talking about, havent spent the time to diagnose it or are just giving you a worst case scenerio.
