Chevrolet Repair: short in A/C system., chevy venture, compressor clutch

Question
i have a 97 chevy venture and everytime i turned on the A/C it works for part of the day then the 10amp fuse blows everytime. i checked the compressor it seems fine. i checked all the other fuses and they are fine. im guessing there is a short some place, but how do i go about finding it if this is the problem. any ideas?

Answer
Hello Angel, The most common problem is the AC compressor clutch coil. It will get hot and draw too many amps causing the fuse to blow. I would get the fuse to blow and then disconnect the compressor and see if the fuse blows, if not then this is your problem.

Hope this helps
