Chevrolet Repair: 1996 Chevy 4x4 pickup lights, chevy 4x4, independent mechanic

we have brake lights now but no running lights the switch in the front has 5 electrical wires running from it and the switch in the back has 4 somehow or other the brake lights and the running lights get tied in together someone, is there any way to rewire it so we have all our lights working

Hello Nikki,
Without seeing it, there is no way to even guess what might be the problem.
But a competent independent mechanic could probably figure it out in short order.
They are two separate systems, even though they may use the same bulb and socket.
