Chevrolet Repair: Fuel delivery problem?, wire connections, delivery problem

Question
Yesterday morning my 98 S-10 PU cranks fast but won't turn over. Has spark, and will turn over when fed gas into throttle body, but won't stay running. Let it sit overnight and now it started fine this morning.  Any thoughts? Can fuel pumps go out slowly and act erratically?

Answer
Hi Mike,
Yes, fuel pumps, or the control system for them can do that.
You should be able to hear the pump in the tank running just after turning the key to run. For about three seconds.
I have seen the pumps not get power due to loose wire connections also.
