Chevrolet Repair: Tire Pressure, chevy malibu, tire pressure

Question
Hi,
I have a 2003 chevy malibu. The owners manual
says to keep tire pressure at front 29lbs. and
rear 26lbs. When i ask at tire garages, they
tell me to keep both at 35lbs. Can you tell me
why the difference and which is better.
                        Thank you.

Answer
usually when i get tire pressure inmy tires i just split the diff, so if the manual says 26-29 and the garage says 35 i usaully put about30 in all tires. as to why your getting differnt numbers, many just go by the manual and then just do it that way. others just go by theier trusty mechanic. but i say the choice is up to you.
