Chevrolet Repair: Silverado Fuel Pump, chevy silverado, tank unit

Question
Recently my 1994 Chevy Silverado stalled while driving down the road.  It was obvious after a quick inspection that I was not getting fuel.  I took my truck to the shop where they replaced the fuel pump and filter and the truck was running fine.  That was yesterday.  This morning the truck stalled again and will not start.  Same thing, no fuel.  I'm sure there's a chance that the new pump may be faulty, but I'm wondering if there could be some underlying problem causing this.  Any advice?

Answer
Hi Dave,
It is possible that the electrical connection for the pump was not making good contact, and indeed the pump not working.
During the act of replacing the pump, the connections were wiggled, and made contact after installing the new pump, but then became loose again.
I specifically remember an 83 pickup I did where the wire connections inside the tank, at the top of the tank unit where the pump is mounted, were rusted from condensation.
Yours could be somewhere else in the wiring, the relay, although they probably checked for power after it, the ground wire where it connects to the frame near the tank, or you could possibly have gotten a bad pump, but I doubt that.
Good luck,
Van
