Chevrolet Repair: 1999 Chev Venture - blinkers, light bulbs, abs light

Question
Inherited from my father who kept in perfect working order. Blinkers acting up. May start up fine, but if lights are on, right blinker blinks very rapidly, back right light, all three bulbs blink vs. one. When I step on the break, both arrows on the dash light up. Left seems OK. Also, my right backup light is out, but upon replacing bulb, still out.

Also, but unrelated I believe, the ABS light stays on, TCS goes off when that happens.

Can I get any of this fixed without the expense of a dealer? What type of repair place would you recommend. One I've gone to (chain store type), cannot fix.

Answer
Hello Lynn,
Possibly all the same problem...maybe not.
Check the high center stop light bulbs. If they are blown, or loose, could cause all, but for sure could cause the ABS light.
If that light works good, both bulbs in it, then check the other stoplight bulbs to make sure they are the correct bulb, correctly installed.
If all the bulbs are good, then a loose ground wire, probably at one of the tail light assemblies, is what I would expect for the problem.
Good luck,
Van
