Chrysler Repair: Loose valves/lash adjusters: 3.5L, 2002 chrysler concorde, 4 digit numbers

Question
QUESTION: With two malfunctioning lifters how do I go about changing them on a 2002 Chrysler Concorde 3.5 engine?

ANSWER: Hi James,
You have to remove the rocker arms with bad lifters (adjusters) and replace them if they are truly bad. However you might want to try bleeding them first. The entire process of diagnosis, bleeding, replacement is covered by 8 pages in the shop manual. I should be able to copy these off an '04 CD that I have and attach them to a email. You would need to send me back a 'private option' email wherein you tell me you email address as I don't routinely see that information.

QUESTION: I changed the two lash adjusters and it made no difference. Car continued to knock and now it won't start. Could you give some ideas as to what has happened?

Answer
Hi James,
Try a fault code readout:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" using the ignition key and doing that routine within 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer window to see the milage reading change show any 4-digit numbers preceded by a P. Let me know what the number is and we'll go from there to figure out why the no start.

PS Do you need the 8 lash adjuster pages, as you mentioned in the rating/nomination response, if you already completed that project? Thanks for the nomination.
