Chrysler Repair: 97 LHS: Starts then dies after a few seconds, 97 chrysler lhs, vehicle security system

Question
My 97 chrysler lhs starts and runs for a few seconds then shuts off. All the electrical seems to be working. My blower runs while the heater controls won't light up. Other than that all the electrical works. I hear a clicking noise coming from the fuse box area as well.

Answer
Hi Kyle,
That symptom of cutting off after a few seconds is consistent with the vehicle security system being armed. If you have that feature try to lock/unlock the passenger side door using the door  key which also disarms the system and your driver door lock wiring may be 'open'.
Then try for fault codes using the ignition key:"0n-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat the process to assure an accurate flash count. Tell me the counts in order of appearance.
What type of heater contols do you have, Manual of Automatic Temp Control? Check fuse #6 in the box behind the left end-cap of the dash to see if it is blown.
Have you identified which relay is clicking and can you describe its location/purpose? Does it do as long as the key is in the 'on' position, or when?
Look into these possibilities and questions and let me know.

PS Sorry for the delay but I just found your question in the 'pool' to which Kevin had referred it. Please 'rate' my answer, and where you see the question about 'volunteer of the month' please consider a 'yes' answer. Thank you
