Chrysler Repair: 03 Town & Country sliding door power lock, sliding door lock, actuator

The left sliding door lock will only lock and unlock intermittently. I started to pull to panel to see if the mechanism can be lubricated, but I'm not sure how to pull it without taking the door off the track and putting it on a bench. If I can get the panel off, should I go ahead and replace the actuator? Or is this repair better left for a repair shop?
