Chrysler Repair: 02 minivan: code 0107, powertrain control module, voltage signal

Question
QUESTION: 2002 dodge grandcaravan 3.3 I originally had problems starting it would crank and immediately die and you can hear the fuel pump pressurize.I have changed throttle body sensor,, idle control module map sensor and fuel pump. The van starts good now, it idles good but when you push on the gas it revs up and down. Also when driving when you let off the gas it decelerates very quickly almost a jerk.

ANSWER: Hi David,
The best way to start on this would be to see what fault codes are stored in the powertrain control module. You can get that for free at most Autozone parts stores or similar nationwide chains. Get the 4-digit code numbers, ask what they mean, and then write back and we'll check out the manual to see what are the possible solutions. There are just too many possibilities to start on a corrective action without having a set of current fault codes. It would be helpful to have disconnected the battery for a minute or so and then having driven the vehicle for long enough for the malfunction to be experienced before having the readout. That way any stale codes that may have been corrected by your previous parts substitutions will not be seen as current.

QUESTION: I did as you requested and the code reads P 107

Answer
Hi David,
The code 0107 says that the signal from the MAP sensor is lower than acceptable. This suggests, because you already changed the sensor, that there may be a problem with the wiring to the sensor.
There are three wires: pin 1 violet/brown wire caries the voltage signal to pin 36 at the PCM, so I would check the continuity of that wire by unplugging the sensor and the plug at the pcm and checking that it is continuous, and then put the plug back in the pcm and verify that the pin at the MAP socket is not showing 0 ohms (a short) when compared to ground which is pin 2 of the same plug.
Pin 2  dark blue/dark green is the signal ground wire and it should show continuity to pin 43 at the pcm.
Pin 3 orange/pink is the 5 volt supply wire to the sensor which makes it work so turn the ignition to run position and then verify that you have 5v on that pin of the MAP plug compared to chassis ground.
Ideally you will find something is wrong and fix it. I assume that you 'read' the fault codes after having first disconnected the battery so that indeed the 0107 is a 'fresh code'.
Let me know how this works out.
