Chrysler Repair: 06 Grand Caravan AC problems., dodge grand caravan, 2006 grand caravan

Question
Question: MY QUESTION IS SIMILAR TO THE ONE POSTED BELOW, ONLY I HAVE A 2006 GRAND CARAVAN - cool air in the rear, a little less cool in the front passenger side and warm in the front drivers side. I TURNED THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION AND HELD THE AC AND RECIR BUTTONS IN FOR 5-10 SECONDS, BUT GOT NO RESPONSE FLASHES????  THANKS FOR ANYTHING YOU CAN SUGGEST.

QUESTION: i have a 2002 dodge grand caravan es. my ac works well in the back, a little bit in the front passenger side and only blows fan in the driver's side. what might be the cause of this problem and is there anything i can do to fix it myself? note: the car has a digital three way control. thanks in advance for your advice.

ANSWER: Hi Josef,
The first thing to do is ask the control to do a calibration which may straighten things out.
Put the ignition switch in the 'on' position. Press and hold simultaneously the Power and Recirculation buttons for at least five seconds, then release them. The graphic Delay and Recirculation graphics will flash when the calibration begins. In about a half minute the calibration will be completed, and the graphics will stop flashing. If they continue to flash beyond that time, then there is a trouble code indicating what is wrong stored in the body computer. A diagnostic readout with a plug-in code reader will need to be done. You could see if a free readout at an Autozone parts store gives you the code, or ask at at an independent shop if their reader can readout the body computer which if so should cost less than $40, or go to a dealer where they will charge more to give you the fault readouts. Let me know what you learn and we can go from there. Chances are there is a problem with the air distribution door in the under-dash unit which involves changing out a small door actuation motor, but let us see first if the calibration will solve it.

WHAT WOULD IT COST TO HAVE THE 06 AC SECTION COPIED AND MAILED TO ME?

Answer
Hi Cecil,
I have the '06 manual but only on a CD. There are about 120 pages involved in the section, and so it is too big a file for me to deal with as I have just learned how to copy a single page or so to possibly send via the internet. I can check at a copy shop to see what they charge to make a hard copy off of a CD, per page.
According to the '06 manual, if your unit is the manual control type then you have to press the rear wiper and the recirculation buttons simultaneously for 5-10 seconds to initiate the calibration, after of course turning the key to the run position. So try those 2 buttons instead of what you did so far. If you have the automatic temp control type then instead you press the power and the recirculation buttons. Once lights start flashing (mtc) or graphics start flashing (atc) you can release the buttons and then it takes about 2 minutes to complete the calibration (mtc) or 20 seconds (atc). If the flashing doesn't stop after that much elapse of time, then there is a problem which can best by diagnosed using the Diagnostic Readout Box III and the body control manual. The flashing will stop after the van has been driven for 8 miles so don't dispair that you can't stop it.
Let me know what you learn and maybe I can be if help of the calibration doesn't solve it, and if you can get a handle on the problem via a readout of the body module I can look up the body diagnostics manual for specifics of any codes you get from a readout.
