Chrysler Repair: 2004 - Pacifica - Cleaning air intake for AC/heater, air plenum, intake plenum

Question
When replacing the inside AC filter I found the intake full of debris, leaves and tree droppings.  Where does this stuff come into the air vent?  Can I clean this out with an Air Hose?

Answer
Hi Jim,
Usually the air intake is at the far end of the intake air plenum at the far passenger side end of it. To get there you need to remove the wiper arms and then open the hood. There is a push-pin type fastener at either end of the grille, gently pry up the center pin and remove the fastener. Then with a wooden stick pry around the grille to release it from clips that hold it in place. Take care not to damage paint on the ends, and gently flex the grille enough to remove it. Once that is out of the way look around inside the trough which is what we call an air intake plenum to find the hole where the air gets to HVAC intake and the filter.  If I find otherwise I'll you know.
