Chrysler Repair: 2.5 V-6: no spark, crankshaft sensor, jumper cables

hi

The car had an issue with short ciruit. The battery was dead so i crank the car w/ jumper cables. I drove around and some how the car just Stop.

The car it cranks but no spark and ofcourse dosent start. We try the computer for diagnost and it just came out 2 codes 401-175-171 but it been fix. as i mentioned no spark. we change a crankshaft sensor and nothing.
Is any posible answer ?
What ECU is compatible with this car? i try a cirrus 200 and dosent work.
how can i prove that the ECU is not good to go buy a new one?
if a buy a used one whta number i need to match?

Hi Victor,
If there is neither an 0320 nor 0340 code then that is a good sign that your engine rotation sesnors are good. When that is true you should get 12V on the pin of the single dark green/orange wire plug at the distributor. So check to see if that wire shows 12V when you are cranking it over. If you have 12V, then you should get spark unless the rotor inside the distributor has failed 'open' or the distributor cap has a bad crack in it. So test the rotor (tip to spring button) for electrical continuity and look over the cap itself for any cracks. The rotor is cheap enough that if you don't have a test meter just replace it without even testing it.
I would not buy an ecu without trying everything else first, and also it should show an 06oo code if it were bad. I doubt that you have a bad ecu.
Let me know if you don't have 12V on the dark green/orange wire at the distributor when you are cranking over the engine.
