Chrysler Repair: 2001 Ply Neon - no start, crankshaft sensor, fine cam

Question
Car will not start, and no fault codes. With Camshaft sensor unplugged , car will start after extra cranking. Car will then run a little rich, but goes down the road fine. Cam Sensor was replaced, no help. Sensor has 8v, gnd, 5v signal going to connector. Monitored signal wire while turning engine over by hand voltage varied from 4.5 to .25 volts. Also tried crankshaft sensor - no help, tried unplugging speed sensor, no -help. Can't find any thing wrong with wiring, nothing loading down 5 or 8 volt power supplies. Any suggestions? Thanks

Answer
Hi Roger,
Take a look at the MAP sensor signal to see if it might be "off-value" but not so much as the set a fault code. It should read about 4.67V with nothing turning. If it reads down around 4V it could be interpreted as a need to lean the mixture, and consequently you have to lean a mixture to get it to idle.
