Chrysler Repair: Front seat removal: 94 LH body, 1994 chrysler concorde, chrysler concorde

Question
Hi Roland,
I have a 1994 Chrysler Concorde with a power driver seat problem. The forward/backward limits are being restricted by a mechanical problem and I need to remove the seat and inspect the underside for an obstruction. The seat moves forward/backward approx. 1 inch and stops with the interior light dimming which would suggest a mechanical problem rather than electrical. I removed the two rusty bolts in the front of the seat and did not see any in the rear. I tried sliding the seat forward to slip out of a track if there is one there and it would not move. Are there more bolts in the rear of the seat that I'm not seeing or does it really just slide forward and out of a track?

Answer
Hi John,
There are 2 bolts holding the rear of the seat track to the floor also (one on each side). The trick is going to be to either move the seat forward enough to expose them, or to sneak a wrench under the seat adjuster to loosen them enough to release the seat track from the floor pan. I can't give you any specific direction, but the ones in the rear will have to be removed to get the seat out of the vehicle. The other possibility is to determine what is binding the movement with the seat 'in situ', so you don't have to remove the track and seat with it so bound up as it now is.
