Chrysler Repair: trans in limp:94 Lebaron, limp home, fuse box

Question
I have a 94 le baron. The trans is in limp home mode. My speedo doesn't work either. i found a faulty wire that goes to the output speed senor and repared it. But the tcm is still in "limp home". I replaced the output senor and still in limp home. I left battery off over night and still limp home. I replaced the input senor and same thing. What am I missing? how can i reset the tcm?

Answer
Hi Heath,
Disconnecting the battery will usually cancel the limp mode, but if the same fault is sensed it will go back into limp. My suggestion would be to get a fault code readout via the data link connector on the left end of the dash near the fuse box. It requires a specific 6-pin plug (3 x 2) and a reader such as the Chrysler DRB II or a Snap-on scanner to get the code readout from the tcm. It would be a 2-digit code just like the ones for the pcm but they are different in their meaning so you have to be sure to use the connector to the dash to get the tcm codes. Let me know what codes come out and I can tell you the possible causes.
