Chrysler Repair: Location of EGR valve: 3,0 V-6, vacuum lines, rear exhaust

Question
Roland can u give the exact location of the EGR valve on 1992 Chrysler La Baron V6 Convertable on how to clean it and what to use to clean it?

Answer
Hi Gregory,
Look along the exhaust pipe that crosses over from the front manifold to join with a pipe that goes to the rear exhaust manifold. Just beyond the joint between the two pipes, if you have an egr, you will see it in a branch that splits off, and it has a small pipe from itself to the intake manifold. I say "if" because not all the V-6 engines in '92 were required to have that valve, it depends upon where the car was first sold. If you don't find it then that is not the answer to your problem. If you have it, then begin as I described by testing the 'action' of the valve, by moving the stem. If it doesn't close by spring-action to a dead stop then lubricate the stem.
If you don't have an egr, then aside from hoping for a fault code I would focus upon the vacuum lines attached to or connected with the intake manifold as a major leak can prevent idling.
