Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Neon anti-theft system, chrysler neon, electronic sensor

Question
Hi I have a german spec Chrysler Neon. I cant start my car because the stupid anti-theft key thing to unlock my door isnt working anymore. When I turn the key it makes the same noise it always did before I would press unlock. I installed new batteries into it and it worked exactly the same as before I changed the batteries. Is there any way to disable the anti-theft thing cause I am quite sick of it actually?

Answer
Hi Yanira,
To be of any help I need to know:
what is the model year of the car?
does it have the 'sentry key immobilizer' system (the key itself is also sensed, i.e. it has a bulge with an electronic sensor in the key head?
does the engine start and then die after 2 seconds or does it just not start at all, or does the starter motor not work at all?

If you don't have the sentry key immobilizer you can Disable the door lock anti-theft system by NEVER using the power door locks, never using the key locks, and never using the battery operated door lock fob to secure the vehicle. If you only manually use the mechanical push-buttons on the door when you exit as the means to secure the vehicle then the anti-theft system will never 'arm', i.e., will never come into usage again. There is no way to remove the system from the vehicle, only never call it into usage as described above.
