Chrysler Repair: 2001 Chrysler Van Power Lift Gate Problem, xerox copy, postal mail

The electronic lift can only be opened manually with the key.  Every once in a while, it will make a sound like it's trying to open, when given the signal to do so, but it doesn't actually open.  Any suggestion on how to go about troubleshooting?

I have the '02 manual which describes the system on 16 pages of text and 4 pages of wiring diagrams. The best way to go would be for you to have all these and work through the possibilities for what is wrong and how to repair it. It is not amenable to doing it by q and a over the internet. I can xerox copy and postal mail you the pages for a total cost of $3.00 which you can send back to me when you get these pages. Just let me know a postal mailing address.
