Chrysler Repair: OC display/ambient air temp sensor on 97 T&C, chrysler town, air temp

Question
I have a 1997 Chrysler Town & Country & have OC on the overhead console from the ambient air temp sensor.  I have replaced the sensor w/no change. I have an identical van & switched the console out w/no change. Thanks

Answer
Hi Alan,
If the sensor is good, then it is either the wires to the O.C. or the O.C. itself, and since the change of the latter didn't correct it that leaves the wires. The violet/light green at the sensor is connected to  pin 5 at the console, and the black/light blue (the sensor ground) is connected to pin 2 at the console. So check those wires and see if they show continuity. There is one 20-pin disconnect in the pathway located at the base of the right side B-pillar (between the front door and the sliding door) and pins 10 and 9 of that disconnect is where you will find those wires. The "OC" probably means that the violet/light green wire is "open" somewhere along the pathway.

PS Sorry for the delay, I just found your question in the 'pool' to which it was referred by Kevin, I believe.
