Chrysler Repair: 1993 Lebaron 3.0 Turns over but No spark/no fuel, crank sensor, radiator fan

Question
Following up... Fuse 14/15 Good, power to both w/ switch On- still no C/E light.

Answer
QUESTION: I have a 1993 LeBaron V-6 that ran fine one day and woyuld not start the next. It turns over great but will not start. Burned a starter up/replaced it- don't want to buy another one. Can NOT hear the fuel pump when I used to... not getting spark to the plugs. Replaced crank sensor & coil, still nothing. Running out of time and money here- please help...

ANSWER: Hi Glenn,
Did you try for fault codes:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time? Then watch the check engine light which remains "on" to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to assure an accurate count. Then group in pairs to form the 2-digit fault codes. Then let me know what they are.
I would suggest that you listen/feel the ASD and Fuel pump relays in the power distribution center when a helper turns the key to run to see if both of them close for about 1 second. If they both do and you aren't hearing the fuel pump hum for a second then I would check to see if you are getting 12V to the spark coil plug (the vertical of the "T" pin) for a second or not. Check fuse 44/45 20 amp in the box as well. Something is going on relative to the ASD output, its actuation, or its power source if have neither fuel or spark and you have a new photo-optic sensor in the distributor.

No power to Fuel Pump or Inj Ignition Coil Relay... what is the ASD relay? I've been looking for the Check Engine light and can't find it- does the 93 have one?

The relays in the box, starting from the outboard are:
starter motor, ASD, fuel pump, open, windshield motor/pump, ac compressor, radiator fan. The check engine light is in the lower left corner of the cluster, below the check gauges light. If you don't see it come on when you turn the key to 'on', then check if it is burned out or removed.

QUESTION: Okay- lower left under temp gauge is a light with temp/oil/bat symbols... trying to find a pic of a dash so i can find the c/e light...

Relays like you said- but instead of ASD mine says Inj Ign Coil. Can't feel anything going on when key is cycled. Power to Fuse block okay... No power at coil "T". Fuse box under hood not labeled w/ numbers. Which one is 44/45? Module behind R Front Headlight Does Click w/ key cycle...

Answer:  The location of c/e light that I suggested came from the '92 and '94 manuals, but I believe the '93 is similarly located. One you describe is the check gauges light, and c/e is directly below that one.
Inj/Ign Coil relay is the ASD relay, by another name. The 44/45 fuse is the middle one of three little ones in the front row of the box (inboard-most group of three, next to the front edge of the box. Also, check fuse 42/43 which is the one next to 44/45, in-board at the very front corner of the box. That one is the one the provides the power to activate the ASD and the fuel pump relay coils. So if they aren't clicking that could be the cause.
The click you hear is from the trans module.

Took the dash apart and replaced bulb in c/e light- still no workie. hmmm. Fuse 44/45 Was blown- replaced with 20A, still no click on the relays. Have power to 3 prongs of Fuel Relay though- improvement. Switched relays out 2 or 3 different ways (swapped them out one to the other...), still nothing... maybe the computer?

Hi Glenn,
I would be inclined to check that you have power to fuses 14 and 15 in the box under the dash when you have the ignition in the run position. That dark blue line also suppllies power to the computer, and if that were missing your computer/check engine light wouldn't work. Were that the case then your ignition switch is bad.
Roland

Hi Glenn,
OK, it could be the computer is bad. Try one last thing, remove the
ASD relay (inj, ign) and jump a wire from the rear pin to the front pin of the socket and then try to start it. Let me know if that makes a difference. If not, then I guess you are left with finding a used pcm because you are getting power to the fuse that powers the computer but you can't get a check engine light voltage out of it.
