Chrysler Repair: 94 minivan:key fob programming, trans diagnosis, jumper pins, left hand corner

Question
2 questions-
1) is there a way to program the key fob?  I was told to jumper pins 1 and 4 at
the receiver and press the unlock button.  Can you do more than 1?
2) AT with OD every now and then will slip and then hammer into gear and
goes into limp mode until restart.  It only happens at a light or stop sign.
Replaced the TCM and cleaned the 8 pins at the tranny.  Any other things to
check?
thank you

Answer
Hi Doug,
Yes, here is how to program the key fob: This is from the '95 manual, the '93 manual doesn't have any info, and I don't have a '94 manual*. If you know where the module is in your '94 see it it has a green wire.
Open and lower glove box door
Locate program line, a dark green wire with a molded insulator on the end, located behind and lower end of the glove box
Turn ignition switch to 'on'
Connect the program line to a nearby ground. The door locks will cycle indicating ready to receive code.
Press any button on fob to set code. If any other fob to be programmed due it now. Door locks will cycle to confirm.
Disconnect program line from ground, install glove box to original position.
Note: the above is from the '95 manual and seems a bit garbled. The remote keyless module is located to the left and above the glove box opening, hidden under the top pad (also described as being above the radio. It has two plugs, and pin 4 of the black plug is where the green wire is attached. So my thought is that you would find that wire on the left side of the glove box, some how sticking into it from above, or perhaps under the door? If nothing is obvious I would remove the glove box and probe around the upper left hand corner to see if you can find the programming wire.

On the trans: the best thing would be to have the trans controller memory readout for fault codes via the data link connector under the dash by the steering column. It is blue and has an 8-pin socket. It mates to a Chrysler DRB II and some other commercial readers. The fault codes have two digits. If you get any codes let me know and I'll tell you what they suggest.

* My '94 LHS manual does suggest that there is a "traction control" plug (2 x 3 pins) which also relates to the ABS, and that if you ground pin 4 of the black plug that is the same as doing what I described above. That wire is connected to pin 5 of the keyless entry module. In any case Green seems to be the wire to look for and ground to do the programming in these years. I don't see anything about jumpering 1 to 4. pin 1 on none of the connectors is a ground, so I wouldn't do that.
