Chrysler Repair: interior lights on 2000 Chrysler 300M, 2000 chrysler 300m, chrysler 300m

Question
Hi,
I have a 2000 Chrysler 300M and since recently, all interior lights (in the doors and two above the central console) are always on. They are supposed to come on only when one of the doors are open, so my first thought was that a switch in some door is broke.
However - the "door is open" indicator in the dashboard is not always on. It works fine i.e. it comes on only when some door is opened, and goes out when the door is closed. Same thing for the "trunk is open" indicator. I suppose this should rule out the switch in the door(s). I would appreciate your advice on this.

Answer
Hi Drazen,
Check the headlamp switch as the optional interior light control "on" setting may be chosen without your knowing it. Other than that, the lights are handled through the body computer and so it could have a false actuation in its circuitry. Your analysis of the doors seems right, but try pushing "in" from outside the car when your interior lights are on to see if any of the 4 doors causes the lights to go out.
