Chrysler Repair: Ignition coil primary circuuts: code 351, 352, 353, orange wire, coil pack

Question
my 2002 town and country would not start after trying to start for 3 min it started and the check engine light came on stayed on for 1 day on my way to autozone to get codes the light went off it read codes 351 352 and 353 this was odd as this vehicle only has 1 ignition module and it was saying all 3 were bad it is starting fine now should i take further action or wait till light comes back on also this vehicle has always been hard starting

Answer
Hi Mike,
There are three separate coils in the coil pack, one for every two spark plugs, thus the three codes if all the circuits are bad.
This suggests to me that you either have a problem with the automatic shutdown relay not having good conducting internal points such that the voltage output to the 3 coils is missing, or its wire (dark green/orange) to the spark coil is shorted to ground or intermittently 'open'. It is doubtful that all three 'drivers' which are connected to each of the coils at their other ends would simultaneously be problemmatic. So my inclination would be to carry along a voltmeter and when/if this happens again be prepared to measure the voltage on that wire (the #3 pin of the 4-pin plug) when it won't start ( have a helper turn on the ignition switch to "run" and it should show 12v for about 1 second after that). If it does, then we have an interesting problem... If it doesn't, then jump a wire across the ASD relay socket (after removing the relay) between the two sockets closer to the center of the underhood power box, also known as 30 and 87) which will guarantee that 12v is going on the dark green/orange wire and thus to coil pack if the wire is good. If it then will start, then you need a new relay (assuming that the relay is clicking for about a second as I described when the key is switched to the run position) or if it won't, and you indeed have 12v at the coil plug and it still won't start then we again have an interesting problem...
Let me know how this works out, please.
