Chrysler Repair: cold idle / turbo boost problem, silicone grease, chrysler lebaron

Question
Hi Roland,
First let me say you have helped me in the past, I hope you can help me again. I have a 1987 Chrysler Lebaron turbo vin# {e}. I was and may still have a vacuum problem, but in my quest for information and in trouble shouting the problems with the codes the car was giving me I found out that the car was running in what is called a limp in mode. After tracing out some wiring back to the logic module I found that connections at the logic module were intermittent due to oxidation on some of the pins.
 Now to my questions, I repaired the connections with silicon grease made for electrical applications and now I am no longer getting TPS codes from the computer and the car is not in the limp in mode any more. {Is this silicone grease ok for the logic module?}
My problem is the car is now hard to start first thing in the morning and the idle is very rough until it warms up. the only code I am getting now is 45, keep in mind I may still have some vacuum issues. Thank you for your time and help..

Answer
Hi Steven,
The silicon grease should be no problem as far as I know.
The poor mixture at start up could be due to a vacuum leak so I would keep on working on that issue. Other than that, the temp sensors are important for a good mixture so check that the coolant temp is reading 10,000 to 14,000 ohm when cold and that it drops to 700-1,000 ohm when warmed up. Similarly for the charge temp sensor. Those would be the first things to verify. The last thing to check is that the egr valve is not sticking ajar which will also lean out the mixture. So check the stem by moving it with the tip of a screwdriver inserted in the slot. It should close tightly via spring action. If not, spray the stem with WD-40 where it enters the valve body and move the stem until it is freed up.
