Chrysler Repair: 88 Chrysler LeBaron: no start, chrysler lebaron, hall effect sensor

Question
I have the same problem as the one last stated. Although my car is fuel injected. I was recently told to change the pick-up modulater, I changed it but with no difference. It wants to catch but doesn't eventually kills the battery.... frustrating...

Answer
Hi Scott,
Do you mean the Hall effect sensor in the distributor by the term "pick-up modulator"? Was that changed because of a fault code (11 or 54) readout? If not, then that is your next step:
Use your ignition key:"On-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in elapsed time of 5 seconds or less. Then watch the check engine light, which remains "on", to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to assure that you have the number of counts accurately.
Then group them in pairs in the order of appearance to form the 2-digit fault codes. The either write back or go to www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a list of the codes.
When you write back tell me which engine and model you have.
