Chrysler Repair: 2000 Chrysler 300m wont operate starter motor, solenoid switch, starter solenoid

Question
I have a 2000 Chrysler 300m. When I try to start it, I get a rapid clicking and all the dashboard lights flash on and off. Nothing else happens.
It did this the first time last week. So i got out of the car for a few minutes and came back. Then it started without a problems. Then when I went to start it a few days ago, I had the clicking problem, but it still hasn't gone away. And i haven't been able to start the car since.

Answer
Hi Sasha,
That is symptomatic of a battery that is low on charge or reaching the end of its ability to provide sufficient current to energize the starter motor. You could put it on a battery charger and see if it will recharge sufficiently to get the starter motor to respond properly or if it is near the end of its warranteed life then replace it. You are hearing the starter solenoid switch when you hear the clicking and it is doing that because the voltage is dropping on the battery every instant that current is applied thru the starter motor so the solenoid open up which cuts the current and so the voltage jumps again and the solenoid closes, etc, etc.
