Chrysler Repair: mini-van power windows, chrysler dealer, postal mail

Question
How much should I expect to pay for the repair of the motor for my power window?

Answer
Hi Diana,
You didn't mention the year so I can't be sure of the removal of the trim panel on the door procedure or which type of internal mechanism is attached to the motor. But in any case as I am not a commercial shop-person I would be hard pressed to tell you the cost. There are time of job  manuals published by Chrysler so the dealer can tell you that as to how much time is should take, and you can multiply that by the hourly charge. If you have a good and fair shop that may not have the manual page, let me know if they would like them so as to not spend unnecessary time on the job. I can xerox and postal mail the pages to you. It costs me 10 cents per side plug the postage to do that.
I have the '93,'95, and '98 manuals to draw from. Maybe another way is to get two estimates and take the lower one.
Let me know how I can be of help. The motor itself is available at the Chrysler dealer parts counter. I don't know if any other sources could supply at a lower cost; ask at a good parts store. Are you sure it is the motor and not the switch/fuse/mechanism?
