Chrysler Repair: Power Door Locks, chrysler town and country, power door locks

I have a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country Van. The power door lock on the passenger side is screaming when I unlock it. First what is the problem? And how do I remove the interior to the door without damaging it.

Hi Scott,
It is probably the electrical actuator of the door lock mechanism that is either worn out or mechanically blocked/sticky. So I would try using the mechanical push button, up and down, to try and loosen it up. If that helps then you might try a quick shot of WD-40 through any available space into that area. If that doesn't free things up, let me xerox and postal mail you a copy of the pages that show how to remove the panel and to deal with the actuator for its replacement. You can give that info back to me via the "thank and rate" tab where there is a space for comments. I have work with the '98 manual but it probably is identical to your situation.
