Chrysler Repair: 1989 new yorker, fuel pump relay, yorker landau

Question
ok, i have a 1989 chrys. new yorker landau. with a 3.0 v6.  and well, i can't get the fuel pump to work. i thought it was bad at first, but i hooked it up directly to the battery and it worked fine, then i tried a tester on the wires going into the pump and there is no power going to the plug, or the wires leading to the plug that goes into the fuel pump.  i think it may be the relay, but i dont know which relay it is. also, if it could be something else too? i dont know.. alright, well, please help, thanks

Answer
The Fuel Pump relay is integrated with the ignition circuit.  The relay is actually called the Auto-Shut-Down Relay (ASD) which is mounted to the driver's side fender.  It should be the front most relay.  If you disconnect the relay and flip it over you should see markings on it like 30, 87, 87a and so on.  If you look at the connector for the relay, and jump pins 30 and 87 you should complete the circuit thus providing both power for the fuel pump as well as the coil pack.

Try tapping on the relay lightly while someone is trying to start the car.  You might laugh but it really does work on alot of things.  If that doesn't work report back and we may have to do some wire testing using a test light and multimeter (buy them before reporting back if no success because without them I can't help any more).
