Suzuki: camshaft, timing belt pulley, best guess

sir,ihave just had a headgasket repaired, after travelling 8 miles the camshaft broke do you think this is related to repair i had done.

IF the camshaft broke in the middle, or other than at the timing belt pulley area, I don't think so.( note this is a best guess sort of thing) If it broke at the pulley, It MIGHT be related to the repair IF (I have no idea how you could determine for sure) an impact wrench was used to tighten the pulley nut.  I have seen cam breakage (but only at the pulley stub)being related to use of an impact.  I sympathize with both you and the repair facility.  This is a no win sort of thing for everyone.
