Chrysler Repair: convertable top mechanism, chrysler lebaron, coupe model

Question
have a convertable... and the top goes down without any difficulties however when gong back up it seems to stop about 25% of the way, I can hear the motor trying to work but... have to 'help' lift the top the rest of the way.  Is there a hydrolic area that needs recharged or?

Answer
Hi Katie,
I am a moderator of a Yahoo Auto group called The Chrysler LeBaron Club and whether you have a LeBaron or a Sebring the folks in that 1500+ member group have lots of experience with convertibles because most of them own one. I happen to have the hardtop coupe model so I leave those questions to the others. So if you go to http://autos.groups.Yahoo.com/group/thechryslerlebaronclub
you can sign up for free and ask the question there. Or you can search the archive without joining. But there will be some good suggestions for you I am certain. There is an hydraulic pump that is driven by the motor and it could be a bit low on fluid so that is a possibility. But see what my friends have to offer.
