Answer
Hi Ivory,
I am not expert in the imported Chrysler vehicles and have no manuals for them. However, if the technology is similar I would expect that the transmission is electronically controlled and that there are two sensors located on it that measure the torque converter turbine output speed and the output speed of the final gear that drives the road wheels (called a distance sensor). Each would have its own plug whose wires are routed to the trans controller where its signal is digitized and sent to the engine controller and the speedometer. I suspect that the plug to the distance sensor or its wires are compromised in some manner so that the signal is not getting to the transcontroller. So see if you can find that sensor somewhere toward the rear of the trans, perhaps on the side that faces the front of the car (as it is on the domestic Chrysler front wheel drive electronic transaxle). The symptoms you are experiencing are consistent with a distance sensor communications problem.
I can't give you anyother suggestions, unfortunately.
