Chrysler Repair: RE: Chrysler 300m overheating bad, radiator coolant, radiator cap

Question
Yesterday, you said I must put water in the radiator everytime I drive it, but I can't find where to put the water in.  All I can find to fill is the overflow bottle. Thanks - Ryan

Answer
Look on the top of the engine to see if there is something that looks like a radiator cap on the top of a short filler pipe. See if it smells like radiator coolant, if you find such a cap. There has to be a filler somewhere in the engine compartment. Trace the hose that enters the bottle from the engine back, from the overflow bottle to the engine, to see where it goes; there should be a filler cap at the neck whereever it goes to, because the radiator cap at that location is what allows the overheated fluid to go to the bottle and which also allows the overflow in the bottle to be sucked back into the cooling system when the system cools down. Do you have an owner's manual? Do you have a neighbor who might have some auto repair skills? You could try putting fluid in the overflow bottle when you stop the car for cool down and hope that it is sucked into the cooling system, but that may not work because of the leak in the system. You can't keep driving the car this way without destroying the engine.
