Chrysler Repair: 1993 Voyager 3.0 v6, voyager 3, fwd cars

Question
Hello again Roland, from what you were saying from before that middle relay alongside the firewall is the starter relay. Ok, now that I found it the part no. was weathered off, however I found it to be 3202...dont know if that sounds familiar with you. Another thing is that I heard if I were to replace that specific part, the i would have to replace the starter as well. Is this true? I was just wondering if you might have a diagram of this mix up I am having with troubleshooting my no start problem. Well appriciated thanks again, Alex  Vancouver, B.C.

Answer
Hi Alex,
I have the wiring diagram for the 92 and 94 V6 3.0 engine as used in the FWD cars and no doubt they are the same and should apply to your 93 van (Chrysler is pretty consistent in its wiring across the model lines).
I don't understand why if you replace the relay you would HAVE to replace the starter motor. You MAY have to replace the starter motor, but because you said it is fluttering I thought it would be worth the chance that the relay is all that is wrong. The relay can't cost too much, I suspect? Then if that doesn't fix it, you could do the motor. On the other hand, you could also go now to the motor where the two incoming wires are located and do that simple jump from the red wire to the brown wire just for a moment and see if the starter gives a "kick" momentarily. If not, then the there is a problem with either the solenoid (what the brown wire is attached to)or the motor proper and the relay may not be the problem. But usually the relay gives a solid single click when you turn the ignition switch to start position, rather than making a vibrating sound.
Let me know a mailing address and I'll xerox a copy and get it right to you.
Roland
